1、 Product positioning and application
VMIVME-2540 is a VME bus intelligent counter/controller designed to provide high-precision digital measurement and function generation capabilities for VME bus systems. It is widely used in fields such as rotary axis instruments, automotive testing, medical, robotics, telescopes/observatories, elevators, bridge cranes, and scenarios that require linear position measurement, such as distance, velocity, and acceleration measurement.

High precision measurement and generation:
VMIVME-2540 supports functions such as event counting, frequency measurement, and cycle/pulse width measurement, with high accuracy and stability.
At the same time, it also supports functions such as pulse sequence/square wave generation, timer/cycle interrupt generation, etc., to meet various control requirements.
Multi channel design:
This product provides up to 24 control/measurement interfaces, including 24 clocks, 24 gates, and 24 outputs, making it easy for users to configure and expand according to their actual needs.
High performance processor:
The VMIVME-2540 is equipped with a high-performance processor (such as an onboard 15 MHz 68HC000 CPU) that can handle real-time control tasks such as data acquisition and signal processing.
Programmability:
Users can configure measurement, timing, and output functions for each channel through a simple memory mapping interface, which consists of commands, command states, parameters, and returned measurement values.
This programmability enables VMIVME-2540 to adapt to different control logics and application requirements.
Flexible interface and compatibility:
VMIVME-2540 has a flexible interface design that supports RS-422 differential interface and single ended TTL input.
It is also compatible with ANSI/IEEE standard 754-1985 for 32-bit floating-point operations, as well as standards such as ANSI/IEEE 1014-1987 IEC 821 and 297, ensuring compatibility with other devices.
Orthogonal position measurement and control:
This product supports orthogonal position measurement, with sine/cosine frequencies up to 1 MHz, a 32-bit counter, and limit/modulus checking functions.
At the same time, it also supports orthogonal position control output, with ± 1/4 wave control resolution and a maximum step rate of 1.25 MHz.
