1. System hardware
(1) Control Processor (CP)
-Fault tolerant control processor CP60 FT: equipped with high-performance CPU (such as AMD DX5, with a clock speed of up to 133MHz), it is the core of system control and data processing. CP60 FT adopts redundant configuration to improve the reliability and stability of the system.
-Fieldbus Component (FBM): As the interface component between the I/A system and field I/O, FBM is responsible for converting the electrical input/output signals of field sensors/actuators, enabling them to communicate with CP through fieldbus. The fully enclosed structure of FBM supports direct on-site installation, saving cable costs and on-site construction costs.
(2) Operator Station Processor (WP)
-Like WP51F DLTRA, it uses a 64 bit processor, equipped with large capacity memory and hard disk, supports high-resolution color displays, and provides operators with an intuitive and convenient human-computer interaction interface.
(3) Remote I/O module
-Including various input/output (I/O) cards such as AI, AO, DI, DO, etc., used to connect field devices and sensors, achieve data acquisition and instruction output.
2. System software
(1) Operating system software
It is usually a customized version based on Unix or other real-time operating systems, such as SUNOS5.2, used to control and organize system activities, manage multi-user multitasking environments, and system files.
(2) Configuration software (IACC)
Provide intuitive and flexible configuration tools for designing and modifying control strategies, creating display screens, and system configuration. When developing a Control Strategy Diagram (CSD), users can construct control loops by dragging and dropping functional blocks and connecting them.
(3) Advanced Control Software (APC)
Connoisseur is an important component of Foxboro's integrated solution. It adopts more advanced process control methods than conventional control, such as predictive control, fuzzy control, etc., to achieve the goal of reducing process fluctuations, lowering production energy consumption, and optimizing operations.
3. Communication network
(1) Node Bus
Connect the various stations in the system (such as CP, WP, etc.) together to form process management and control nodes. The node bus is redundant, which improves the reliability of the communication network.
(2) Field Bus
Used to connect FBM and field devices, transmitting field data to the control processor. The fieldbus adopts standard communication protocols such as IEEE802.3 (Ethernet).
(3) Broadband Local Area Network (BROADBAND LAN) and Carrier Band Local Area Network (CARRIERBAND LAN)
The higher-level communication network that constitutes the system supports data transmission over longer distances and higher bandwidths.
4. Other components
-Engineer Station: Used for system configuration, debugging, and maintenance work.
-Safety systems, such as Emergency Shutdown System (ETS), Burner Management System (BMS), etc., ensure the safe operation of the system.
-Auxiliary systems, such as Data Acquisition Systems (DAS), Historical Data Storage Systems (HDS), etc., are used for data collection, storage, and analysis.
